Writers' Square
Writers' Square, Belfast, is owned by the Department for Communities and managed by the Laganside Team, Belfast Regeneration Directorate.
Application for a trading pitch at Writers' Square
There are 6 Trading Pitches located at the rear of the Square as shown on the map below. DfC currently operate these pitches as a ‘Food Market’ with a variety of food offerings.
Traders interested in obtaining a pitch at Writers' Square should submit a proposal by email to the Laganside team.
After approval by DfC, applicants must also apply to Belfast City Council for a street trading licence. Information regarding the process for applying to BCC is available at the link below.
The Department’s licence fee per pitch is currently £1,500 per annum (subject to annual review by LPS) and is exclusive of insurance, rates and all other outgoings. This is payable monthly by standing order.
DfC Laganside is not obliged to accept any proposal received. DfC will seek to promote a complementary range of food offerings. Potential traders should familiarise themselves with the area and with the current traders operating in order to demonstrate how their offering will be unique/complement the current available food options.
Each applicant is asked to provide the following information:
Proposed trader details:
- full name and home/business address and phone number of proposed tenant/business taking the licence
- if a business, details of each of the directors of the company, names and contact information should be provided
