In the build up to the 2019 Open Golf tournament, being staged at Royal Portrush between 18 - 21 July, the Department for Communities has supported a number of inclusive golf projects across the Council Areas

The project encourages and facilitates a collaborative approach to promote inclusion and increase participation in golf among a number of currently under- represented groups. The projects contribute to the delivery of the Active Living: No Limits 2016-2021 Action Plan.

One of the projects being supported was a recent Blind Golf Insight Day which took place at Allen Park Golf Course in Antrim. The day included the opportunity for RNIB to provide Guide Training for sighted guides, who are volunteers, to enable them to be able to work with partially sighted and blind golfers. The day provided an opportunity for members the visually impaired community to experience Blind Golf, through a number of fun- based, sessions.
