Suspended sentence for benefit fraud at Laganside Magistrates’ Court

A woman was convicted at Laganside Magistrates’ Court for benefit fraud.
Nateesha De Brun (29) of Coolnasilla Park East, Belfast claimed Universal Credit totalling £5,982 whilst failing to declare she was working. She was given three months’ imprisonment suspended for twelve months. Ms De Brun is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongly obtained to the Department.
The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
