The joint consultation sought views on:

    • Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs)
    • drinking in public
    • injunctions against anti-social behaviour
    • absolute grounds for possession

The consultation confirmed that the legislative framework to tackle drinking in public needs to be updated to ensure it is fit for purpose.

DoJ are leading on the consideration of potential legislative change to anti-social behaviour orders (ASBOs) and are working collaboratively with DfC on the proposals related to drinking in public.

The summary of responses and way forward are available on the DoJ website.

The Department published a separate consultation outcome report in relation to the remaining provisions and the proposals to amend legislation to help tackle anti-social behaviour in housing.
