Consultation Outcome Report - Proposals to amend legislation to help tackle anti-social behaviour in housing
Date published:
The Department for Communities has published an Outcome Report which presents the findings from a consultation on “Proposals to amend the legislation to help tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Housing”.
The issue of ASB is a concern to many in society and the Department wants to ensure that landlords have strengthened powers at their disposal to effectively deal with ASB, when other measures have been exhausted. To enable this, the Department wants to bring forward legislation in respect of Injunctions against Anti-Social Behaviour and Absolute Grounds for Possession.
A 13-week consultation ran from 28 November 2023 to 4 March 2024. An extension was provided until 5 April 2024 for a small number of organisations. The Department engaged with a range of stakeholders and over 100 responses were received providing valuable feedback.
More detail about the consultation and subsequent analysis approach is provided within the published Outcome Report.
