    State Pension is a regular payment people can claim when they reach State Pension age. A new State Pension system was introduced on 6 April 2016 for men born on or after 6 April 1951 or women born on or after 6 April 1953. People who reached State Pension age before 6 April 2016 will continue to receive State Pension under the current system.
