Official Statistics consultation
If you use any of the Culture, arts, heritage, sport and language statistics publications on our website Analytics Division within the Department for Communities NI (DfC) are interested in your views. We are reaching out to users to better understand how the statistics are being used, whether the range and type of outputs meet user needs, and to highlight where improvements can be made.

Headline statistics
Headline figures for engagement in culture, arts, heritage and sport are produced in summer in advance of further detailed reports with demographic breakdown being published in autumn/winter. Engagement figures for young people are produced triennially.
Wellbeing
Culture, Arts, Heritage statistics
This series of publications provides information on adults and young peoples’ experience of culture, arts and heritage in Northern Ireland. Prior to 2023/24 statistics relating to heritage were included in a separate ‘Experience of heritage’ report.
Historic environment
These publications present the findings from the heritage module of the Continuous Household Survey. From 2023/24, statistics relating to heritage were included in the Culture, arts and heritage report and from 2021/22 in the Headline statistics and Wellbeing reports. Links are also provided to the NI environmental Statistics and NI Heritage Statistics reports.
