    • Heritage & You

    Date published: 20 August 2020

The NI Heritage Statistics document was recorded on 31 March 2019 and sets out how Northern Ireland’s historic environment contributes to our prosperity, progress and personality.  It demonstrates, with reference to case studies, that our heritage has a wide, positive impact across many aspects of our society, economy and environment. It’s published by the Department for Communities on behalf of an alliance of heritage organisations.

The statistics are arranged to answer the following questions:

    • What heritage do we have and what state is it in?
    • How are we managing change to the historic environment?
    • What are we doing to realise its potential for Northern Ireland?

The ‘Quality Report’ below contains information on the administrative data sources used to produce the ‘NI Heritage Statistics as recorded on 31 March 2019’ report.

Other culture and heritage statistics are also available.
