This Guide on the principle provisions of the Order has been prepared by the Social Policy Unit of the Department for Communities for the information and advice of licensed premises.
Please note the guide to the Licensing (NI) Order 1996 (the Order) is currently under review. The Department has produced a guide to the Licensing and Registration of Clubs (Amendment) Act (NI) 2021 (‘the Act’), which includes information on recent changes the Act made to the Order.
