    The Department for Communities proposes to make the above Statutory Rule under powers conferred by the Houses in Multiple Occupation Act (Northern Ireland) 2016. The Statutory Rule increases the maximum application fee for a House in Multiple Occupation License from £45 per occupant per year to £75 per occupant per year. The increase is required to ensure the licensing scheme continues to operate on a cost neutral basis for councils and rate payers.
