    The museums policy aims to provide a strategic policy position for a vibrant and valued museums sector. The policy will highlight the multi-faceted benefits that museums bring in terms of education, promoting wellbeing, social inclusion, and celebrating and reflecting diversity in our society.

    The scope of this policy will cover the work of National Museums NI (NMNI) and NI Museums Council (NIMC), both Arm’s Length Bodies of the Department for Communities. Independent NIMC accredited museums and the wider sector will have a strong interest in the policy.

    A Rural Needs Impact Assessment has also been published.
