Landlord Advice Service launched

Date published: 15 March 2017

One of the leading providers of independent housing advice in Northern Ireland has just launched a new telephone advice service for private landlords.

Housing Rights will be conducting a pilot on behalf of Department for Communities offering landlords free confidential advice to ensure that the rights of landlords and tenants are protected. Landlords can get information and guidance on the legal requirements they must observe and if you are thinking of becoming a landlord and are not sure what to do or how to go about it then the service will be on hand to assist you.  Support and advice will also be available to anyone working as a managing agent or estate agent.

Anyone who has experience of being a landlord or tenant can appreciate the minefield of information that is out there and understanding the legislation can be difficult. This new service is on hand to help and a quick phone call will help interpret the law so that both landlords and tenants are protected. The service can also advise on key issues like preparing to rent, property standards, rights and responsibilities and ending tenancies.

The Landlord Advice service aims to promote a professional and well managed private rented sector that is good for both landlords and tenants. The service has been welcomed by the Landlords Association and will benefit all those involved in the private rental sector.

Anyone needing advice or information should contact the service by emailing advice@landlordadviceni.org
