Personal Independence Payment information

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is for people aged 16 or over and under State Pension Age. PIP reflects today’s understanding of disability which aims to help people with a disability or a long-term health condition lasting for 12 months or longer.

What is PIP

PIP replaced Disability Living Allowance (DLA) in June 2016.

On this page you will find a range of detailed information to explain PIP and help people decide if they may be able to get PIP and how to claim.

To claim PIP, contact the PIP Centre on nidirect: Personal Independence Payment Centre (Northern Ireland)
