    The purpose of the proposed legislation is to make amendments and modifications to various social security regulations relating to Universal Credit (UC), State Pension Credit (SPC), Housing Benefit (HB) and Tax Credits (TC).

    The proposals involve:

    • amending the State Pension Credit Regulations (NI) 2003 by:
      • inserting a definition of “foster parent” into Schedule 2A to enable an additional amount to be paid where a child is placed for adoption with an SPC claimant.
