The Social Security (Medical Evidence) and Statutory Sick Pay (Medical Evidence) (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2022 - screening

The Social Security (Medical Evidence) and Statutory Sick Pay (Medical Evidence) (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2022 expand the group of healthcare professionals who can sign a fit note, to include registered nurses, occupational therapists, pharmacists and physiotherapists., in general practice and hospital settings only.  Extending certification to a wider group of healthcare professionals will better enable the relevant professional to undertake health and work conversations and to issue and certify Fit Notes without having to refer patients to their doctors.
