Review of Role and Responsibilities of Councillors in Northern Ireland

This review of the role and responsibilities of councillors in Northern Ireland was carried out by an independent working group chaired by Mr Maynard Mawhinney. The working group, consisting of two other independent members; a representative from the Northern Ireland Local Government Association; the National Association of Councillors Northern Ireland; and a Department for Communities policy official, submitted its report containing a number of recommendations for DfC to consider.
