This privacy notice from the Department for Communities (DfC) tells our customers and service users how we process your personal data in accordance with our legal obligations under the Data Protection Act (DPA) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UKGDPR).
The Department for Communities’ Communications team processes personal information on behalf of all Departmental business areas in order to provide relevant information about the Departments products and services. This may include but is not limited to social security, housing, heritage and preservation, sport and culture.
Communication may be made by letter or email, to provide information such as a change or update to a service, issue an invitation to a closed or public event or workshop.
In some cases, if you have subscribed to any of the Departments email newsletters, this area specific email marketing is conducted using defined mailing lists of subscribers.
The Communications team may also processes any personal information supplied by the feedback forms on communities-ni.gov.uk, nidirect.gov.uk, or any social media channel belonging to the Department. This information will be processed in order to deal with your enquiry.
