The Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) to administer Housing Benefit (Rates) and Low Income Rate Relief (LIRR) for Owner Occupiers from 31st May 2022 - screening

To allow for the lawful transfer of the administration of Housing Benefit (Rates) and Low Income Rate Relief for Owner Occupiers from Land and Property Services (LPS) to the NIHE from 31^st May 2022 it is necessary for DfC to make Regulations. The purpose of the Statutory Rule the ‘Housing-Related Functions of the Department of Finance (Exercise by the Housing Executive) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021’ is to prescribe the functions that will transfer from LPS in the Department of Finance (DoF) and will be carried out by the NIHE to administer HB (Rates) and LIRR for Owner Occupiers.
