Irish Language & Ulster-Scot Development Projects - screening

The objective of the policy is to further (1) support indigenous language and indigenous cultural development and/or (2) support pathways to employment and training through our indigenous languages and associated cultures.

In an Assembly Statement in March 16 the then DCAL Minister proposed an Ulster-Scots & an Irish Language Academy with a focus on employment and training opportunities. In the absence of the academy the Department has adopted / will continue to adopt an approach of supporting value for money pilot seed initiatives which (1) support indigenous language and indigenous cultural development and/or (2) support pathways to employment and training through our indigenous languages and associated cultures.
