This good practice guide aims to assist councils achieve a consistent approach when identifying and protecting Historic Buildings of Local Importance.  This guide is not intended to replace the need for council judgement in their decision making. Reference should be made to the actual policy referred to in this document and if any discrepancy or conflict exists between this guide and policy, the provisions of the policy will prevail.
