    Topics:
    • Benefits and pensions,
    • Private pensions

    Date published: 10 October 2022

This guidance aims to improve both the quality of governance and the level of action trustees must take in identifying, assessing and managing climate risk.

From 1 October 2022, the Occupational Pension Schemes (Climate Change Governance and Reporting) (Amendment, Modification and Transitional Provision) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2022 introduce new requirements to be met by trustees of schemes in scope of the Climate Change Governance and Reporting Regulations, by making amendments to those Regulations, in relation to the calculation and reporting of a metric which gives the alignment of the scheme’s assets with the climate change goal of limiting the increase in the global average temperature to 1.5˚C above pre-industrial levels.
