The Department for Communities is offering funding to support the delivery of 300 new Intermediate Rent homes, and is seeking to work with an organisation (or multiple organisations working as one) who will act as the Intermediate Rent Operator. The Operator will also let these homes to eligible tenants in line with the Intermediate Rent policy.

Funding is available in the form of a long-term low interest Financial Transactions Capital (FTC) loan and the Department is now inviting interested parties to apply for this funding and to set out how they will deliver the homes.

How to apply for funding to act as Intermediate Rent Operator

An application pack, including the application form, can be requested by emailing intermediaterent@communities-ni.gov.uk, providing the name of your organisation(s) and email address for issue of the competition application pack. Requests for application packs must be received no later than 16 August 2024 (5 working days prior to the closing date for applications). The application pack will normally be issued within 1 business day.

Completed forms may be submitted from 01 June 2024 and all applications must be submitted by 4pm on the closing date of 23 August 2024 at the latest.

Full details of the funding package, eligibility criteria, Operator’s contribution, and how to apply are contained in the application guidance (available at the link below).

Answers to clarification questions received will be published periodically while the competition is live.

The Department has reviewed the equality impacts associated with the funding arrangements and an equality screening has been published.
