Evaluation of the Active Ageing Strategy 2016-2022
Date published:
This evaluation focuses on the Executive’s Active Ageing Strategy 2016-2022 (“the Strategy”) and covers the full lifespan of the Strategy, including its extension until May 2022.
The extension was to allow the Department to continue the progress already made and to provide additional time to engage with older people and other stakeholders to evaluate the Strategy and take steps towards co-designing a new Active Ageing Strategy to take us beyond 2022.
This section provides an overview of the Strategy and its underpinning delivery mechanisms. The second section describes the evaluation and the methodology used to conduct it. The third section provides an evaluation of progress against the Strategy’s outcomes and priorities. The concluding sections provide a commentary on lessons learned from the implementation and evaluation of the Strategy, with a view to informing next steps to be taken.
