    In May 2021, the Department for Communities established a Culture, Arts & Heritage recovery taskforce of 26 members to respond to COVID-19 and consider measures to support the short term reopening and recovery of the sector.Subsequently a total of £23m was allocated by the NI Executive to the Department for Communities (DfC) to design and develop a Covid Recovery Programme with the overarching aim to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on the culture, arts (including the creative industries), languages, heritage, sports, charities and social enterprise sectors.
