The COVID-19 Heating Payment Scheme will provide individuals who are in receipt of specified benefits with financial assistance in recognition of the additional costs arising as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Payment will ensure that additional heating costs incurred do not create and added burden or anxiety.
These regulations extend the eligibility of the original Scheme to include those in receipt of the following associated overlapping benefits:
- higher rate of constant attendance allowance (payable alongside either industrial injuries disablement benefit or war pensions);
- war pensions mobility supplement; or
- armed forces independence payment.
