    From today; Finance Support is a new service for Northern Ireland that has been created to support people in times of financial need through schemes such as:

    • Discretionary Support
    • Short Term Benefit Advances
    • Maternity Grants
    • Funeral Payments
    • Budgeting Loans
    • Cold Weather Payments

    Support in a crisis

    If you have a financial crisis you can call our freephone number to apply for Discretionary Support or a Short Term Benefit Advance:

    • Freephone: 0800 587 2750
    • Textphone: 0800 587 2751 (for deaf or hard of hearing users and customers with speech difficulties)

    We will be able to give you a decision immediately on whether you are eligible, or not.

    Support when you need it

    There are also a number of other Finance Support services available for times of need.

    • Maternity Grants
    • Funeral Payments
    • Budgeting Loans
    • Cold Weather Payments

    To apply for any of these, you can call the freephone number (0800 022 4250) or contact your local Jobs & Benefits office / Social Security Office.
