Suspended sentence for benefit fraud at Craigavon Crown Court

A man has been convicted at Craigavon Crown Court for fraudulently claiming over £23,900 in benefits.
Mark Carr (64), of Gregg Street, Lisburn claimed Universal Credit totalling £23,904.62 while failing to declare capital. He was sentenced to five months’ imprisonment suspended for eighteen months. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
All money wrongfully obtained has been repaid to the Department.
