Suspended sentence for 44-year-old woman convicted of benefit fraud at Antrim Crown Court

A woman has been convicted at Antrim Crown Court for fraudulently claiming over £60,500 in benefits.
Victoria McGrath (44), of Millfields, Kells, Ballymena, claimed Personal Independent Payment totalling £60,585.04 while exaggerating the extent of her disability. She was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment, suspended for three years.
The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
Ms McGrath is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
