  • Suspended sentence for 38-year-old woman convicted of benefit fraud at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court

    A woman has been convicted at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court for fraudulently claiming over £7,000 in benefits.

    Katarzyna Wysocka (38), of Ayrshire Drive, Lisburn, claimed Universal Credit totalling £7,062.28 while failing to declare that she was living with a partner. She was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.   

    Ms Wysocka is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongly obtained to the Department.   

    The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
