PRIDE events are important opportunities for members of our LGBTQI+ communities and their allies to increase their visibility within society and help create a sense of belonging for communities who may feel they are ignored within society due to their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Department for Communities Permanent Secretary, Colum Boyle said:

“It is fantastic that PRIDE continues to grow with more events happening in communities right across the region and I want to promote a message of equality and inclusion for our LGBTQI+ communities and acknowledge the positive contribution they bring to society.

“PRIDE events are open to all, and I would encourage as many people as possible to attend to celebrate and show support for all our LGBTQI+ communities.

“The Department for Communities will continue to support and protect the rights of all our LGBTQI+ communities and promote an inclusive society that is built on equality and respect.”
