The Heritage Lottery Fund is pivotal in guiding people and organisations

Minister Givan

Ms Carragher was appointed through an open competition run by the Department of Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) which has overall responsibility for UK Lottery Matters. As an integral element of the process for HLF Board Appointments, Ms Carragher’s selection has been ratified by Prime Minister.

The appointment, which was announced by DCMS today, will take effect from 1 December 2016 for a term of up to three years.

Welcoming the appointment the Minister said: “I would like to congratulate Anna on her appointment to the UK Board of the Heritage Lottery Fund. She is a high calibre appointee who will bring a wide and varied range of skills and experience which are vital to both the HLF Northern Ireland Committee and to the UK Board.

“The Heritage Lottery Fund is pivotal in guiding people and organisations who want to be involved with the heritage around them from developing new skills to understanding their local area better.  As my Department oversees Lottery matters for Northern Ireland there is a close working relationship already in existence. The appointment of Anna will no doubt only serve to enhance that further.

“I wish Anna every success as she takes on the challenges that lie ahead.”
