    About Duncarbit Standing Stones

Two tall, slender standing stones may be the remains of a once more extensive stone alignment. Local name ‘Slaght’ suggests burial traditions and the stones are believed to mark the burial place of John Roe MacDonnell, killed while fleeing from the battle of Gleshesk in 1567.
