    About Castledillon Obelisk

Castle Dillon, former home of the Molyneux family, is to the south-east and was a landscape feature connected to the Castle. It is a prominent landmark with an inscription recording its erection in 1782 by Sir Capel Molyneux ‘to commemorate the glorious revolution, which took place in favour of the constitution of the Kingdom, under the auspices of the volunteers of Ireland’.
