Donaghmore Historical Society’s USA–NI 250 project explores Tyrone’s links with colonial America through the surviving correspondence of Thomas Greer, a Dungannon linen merchant.
The launch will feature historical letter readings by actor and director Bugsy McMahon, alongside narration and a short presentation by Dr Ciarán Reilly of Maynooth University. Communities Minister Gordon Lyons MLA will deliver the official launch remarks. Guests will also have an opportunity to view the new six-panel travelling exhibition, with music by Stonewall Music and refreshments.
The wider project includes an illustrated booklet, an educational resource and a digital heritage map, helping to bring these remarkable transatlantic stories back to Tyrone and share them with a wider audience.
