    Summary

Consultation on a policy framework for broadening Collective Defined Contribution provision.

    Consultation description

The author for this consultation is the Department for Work and Pensions. As such, all consultation information and related documents can be found on the GOV.uk website Extending Opportunities for Collective Defined Contribution Pension Schemes - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

This consultation seeks views on policy proposals for broadening Collective Defined Contribution (CDC) provision beyond single or connected employer schemes to accommodate multi-employer schemes, and the role of CDC in decumulation.

The consultation is aimed at pension scheme trustees and managers, particularly those from DC Master Trust schemes, pension scheme service providers, other industry bodies and professionals and those seeking to establish a CDC scheme.

In general, Northern Ireland’s pensions policy and legislation operate in line with Great Britain, and there is, in effect, a single pensions system across the UK. It is anticipated therefore that any changes will be introduced here, subject to the necessary approvals.
