    Consultation description

The Department for Communities has led the development of this Disability Strategy on behalf of the Executive and with extensive input from other departments. It has been developed in partnership with Deaf and disabled people and their representative organisations and is targeted at the areas of greatest need.

The draft Strategy and its eight outcomes, set out an ambitious programme of work that will lay a solid foundation for addressing the main societal barriers that inhibit the full participation and inclusion of Deaf and disabled people in society. It will require Government, Deaf and disabled individuals, and their representative organisations to work effectively together to ensure its success.
