River notice 32/26

The River Warden issues information notices advising of restricted access to the river. This may be due to races or other river events taking place or because work is being carried out to improve the river or the weir.
Daytime River Lagan lowering - 26 and 27 October 2026
Notice is hereby given that the River Lagan between the Lagan Weir and the
Stranmillis Weir will be unsafe for navigation at the following times:
- between 2:00am - 9:00am on Monday 26 October 2026
- between 3:00am - 10:00am on Tuesday 27 October 2026
The River Lagan will be fully lowered at these times to provide freshwater storage during a forecast storm surge period.
River users are advised not to be on the river during these periods as the river level will fall substantially below the normal minimum impoundment level.
