River notice 29/26
Notice is hereby given that DfI Roads will be carrying out a structural survey of the Kings Bridge from 28 September - 2 October. The works will involve a contractor inspecting and carrying out maintenance works using Cuan Marine’s multicat barge as a working platform.
Navigation Information - DfI Survey of Kings Bridge - 28 September - 2 October 2026
The survey will commence in the County Down arch and proceed in each arch sequentially, finishing in the County Antrim Arch.
During the survey period each arch being worked in will have a sign on it stating it is closed to navigation, there will also be a string of orange buoys placed 100m from the bridge on the approach to the arch. The contractor will have a safety boat on site to warn river users. River users are advised to exercise caution in the area and give the works a wide berth.
The River Warden’s boat will be on duty to ensure that river users comply with the River Lagan Tidal Navigation and General Byelaws (NI) 2007 applicable to this Notice.
