The Department for Communities is the Regulatory Authority for Registered Housing Associations (RHAs) in Northern Ireland and undertakes an annual programme of development inspections in RHAs.
About Housing Inspection
The Housing Inspection Branch was formed in 2019. Its purpose is to undertake inspections of the social housing development projects delivered by the RHAs which received a Housing Association Grant from the department. A small sample of adaptation projects delivered by the RHAs within their existing stock is also inspected by the branch.
