    The Welfare Reform Mitigations Working Group Report was published on 19 January 2016 and the report and its recommendations were endorsed at the Executive meeting on 21 January 2016.  Professor Evason’s report was subsequently presented to the Social Development Committee on 4 February 2016.    

    The Working Group designed Welfare Supplementary Payments (WSPs) to provide additional financial support for vulnerable families and adults (both in and out of work) who would be impacted most by the introduction of the welfare changes contained in the Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2015, the Welfare Reform and Work (Northern Ireland) Order 2016 and the Welfare Reform Act 2012 (changes to Tax Credits).
