    Previous reports, published in 2009 and 2018, explored the demand for, and supply of skills and within the built heritage sector. Through the 2017-18 Historic Environment Fund, HED commissioned CITB NI to undertake further research, providing an updated position specific to Northern Ireland. This research was conducted between February and April 2018, with the findings published in June 2018.

    This 2018 report offers an overview of the heritage sector in Northern Ireland, examining current and future skills demand the availability of skilled practitioners, and existing training provision. It also sets out a series of recommendations aimed at strengthening training capacity and supporting the sector’s long-term sustainability.
