    Consultation description

    Change which the Department of Environment proposes to make to the Planning (Hazardous Substances) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014 (“the 2014 regulations”), in respect of Directive 2012/18/EU Article 30 , Heavy Fuel Oils (HFO) and explains how the 2014 Regulations will differ from the 1993 Regulations.

    The change is:
    • “heavy fuel oils” is inserted to the table in Part A (named substances) of Schedule 3 in item 36 “Petroleum products” after “(c) gas oils (including diesel fuels, home heating oils and gas oil blending streams)”.

    The controlled quantity for HFO will be 2,500 tonnes. It had been 100 tonnes.
