Consultation description
The Draft Local Government Pension Scheme (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2013, (the draft Regulations) which the Department of the Environment proposes to make under the powers conferred by Articles 9 and 14 of, and Schedule 3 to, the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972.
The Local Government Pension Scheme in Northern Ireland (LGPS (NI)) is governed by the following principal regulations:-
- Local Government Pension Scheme (Benefits, Membership and Contributions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 (the Benefits Regulations);
- Local Government Pension Scheme (Administration) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 (the Administration Regulations); and
- Local Government Pension Scheme (Amendment and Transitional Provisions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009.
The proposed draft Regulations would amend provisions in the Benefits Regulations, the Administration Regulations and the Transitional Regulations.
