    Consultation description

These services are presently commissioned by the 26 local councils and are provided through Citizens Advice Bureau and independent Advice Centres across Northern Ireland. This strategy aims to address three key challenges of:

    • supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people
    • empowering people in the longer term to help them lead better lives

The consultation document aims to facilitate wide ranging discussion on the main challenges facing generalist advice services in Northern Ireland. It sets out a series of objectives and proposals which will support, strengthen and develop the provision of generalist advice services.
