The Department, delivering on a commitment set out in the Housing Strategy 'Facing the Future' (2012-17) and the draft Programme for Government, has published a public consultation on proposals to improve how social homes are allocated. Also published is a draft Equality Impact Assessment.

In 2013, three independent reports, prepared by the Universities of Ulster and Cambridge, were published for public comment;

The Department sought public views on these reports from December 2013 to February 2014. A summary of public comments on the independent proposals is now available
