River notice 35/19

Navigation Information - Monitoring Buoys - September 2019 – April 2020

Notice is hereby given that as a requirement of the forthcoming dredging project two water quality monitoring buoys will be placed in the river at Stranmillis Pool and downstream of Governors Bridge as show in the accompanying sketch. The King's Bridge buoy will be moved downstream as each of the dredging areas are completed and the Stranmillis Pool buoy will remain in this location for the duration of the contract.

The buoys will be illuminated at night and the light sequence is 4 flashes one second apart followed by a 20 second pause. River users are asked to exercise due caution around the buoys and give them a wide berth.

The River Warden’s boat will be on duty to ensure that river users comply with the River Lagan Tidal Navigation and General Bye-Laws (NI) 2007 applicable to this Notice.
