Navigation Information – Rowing Camps and aeration equipment removal
Notice is hereby given that Queens University Belfast have been given approval to hold rowing camps on each weekday from Monday 22nd July until Friday 9th August from 0930hrs to 1630hrs. The rowing camps will involve supervised novice rowers on the river and will take place between Belfast Boat Club and Ormeau Bridge.
Notice is also given that Lagan Weir operational staff will be removing aeration equipment out of the river prior to it being dredged in September. This work will involve a pontoon and a boat (MV Gemma) being used to retrieve submerged pipes of the river between Kings Bridge and Stranmillis pool and will take place between 8th July and 16th August.
River users are asked to exercise due caution around the novice Rowers and give the pontoon and workboat a wide berth.
The River Warden’s boat will be on duty to ensure that river users comply with the River Lagan Tidal Navigation and General Bye-Laws (NI) 2007 applicable to this Notice.
