Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is a disability benefit for claimants of working age (16 to state pension age (SPa)).  Claimants continue to receive PIP when they reach SPa so long as they continue to meet the entitlement conditions. The PIP assessment measures the impact of a person’s health condition or impairment on their ability to carry out a series of key everyday activities which are fundamental to living an independent life.
