COVID-19 Recovery Revitalisation Programme - screening

Date published: 14 August 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent closure of all non-essential retail has had a devastating effect on the vitality of town and city centres across Northern Ireland. This programme will provide district councils with funding to allow them to carry out interventions in town and city centres that will introduce measures to create a retail experience that is safe and welcoming for all through a joined-up approach between the Department for Communities (DfC), Department for Agriculture, the Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), and district councils. DfC has provided £10m in capital towards the programme, while DAERA has added a further £1m to allow the programme to be extended into smaller rural town centres.
