A man was convicted at Londonderry Crown Court today for claiming over £10,000 in benefits he was not entitled to.
Brian McCormick (64) of Urbal Lane, Coagh claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance totalling £10,406 while failing to declare income. He was given a conditional discharge for eighteen months.
The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
He is also required to pay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
